Costco La Terra Fina 2-Pack Quiché Review

You will find everything you need to know about these quiches in all the sections below. Hopefully it helps you decide whether you should try them or not!

Where To Find It In Store

These delicious Quiché options are under the prepared salads, meats & sides area of the store or online. The item number is 380991 for anyone who is looking for a quick way to find this online!

They are pretty popular items, but don’t tend to sell out like other options in the store! As such, you don’t necessarily need to worry about not getting your Quiché if you stop by Costco.

What The Box Says

Looking at the box, you will notice that it states that the quiches have no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives! It also points out that each Quiché contains 11 grams of protein, and that the product should be refrigerated.

Below each Quiché name, the box also states that the product is made using egg whites, so it is not a vegan-friendly product.

Flavor

As the pack says, you get two types of Quiché with this purchase! The first is spinach and artichoke, and the other is cheddar and broccoli. Both of these Quiché options are nicely flavored and have great seasoning on them.

Depending on your personal preferences, you may prefer one over the other, or love them both equally! The spinach and artichoke has a more unique flavor than the cheddar broccoli, but both are delicious and well-made.

They’re packed full of flavor and are good options for lunch or even a snack.

Surprisingly, the pastry or crust on these are probably better than you’re expecting! Pastries can be hit or miss when they’re store bought in this format, but luckily these don’t disappoint. It’s crispy and flavorful, so you have nothing to worry about!

The only thing that would make these Quiché options better would be to add some kind of meat in one of them. This would just add some nice variety and perhaps make one a little more filling or more dense than the other.

Bacon would have paired beautifully with either option, so it kind of feels like a missed opportunity. Maybe in the future!

The Price

For both products, you can expect to pay CA$15.99 – so that’s just under $8 per Quiché! As you can tell, that definitely isn’t a cheap option as far as Quiché goes!

However, considering how convenient (see below), they are, a little extra money is expected. We do pay for convenience, after all!

Convenience

All you need to do when you get the Quiché home is stick it in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit! Cook it for anywhere between 25-28 minutes, and you will have a delightful Quiché ready to eat.

If you bought the Quiché some time ago and froze it (they’re great for freezing, more on that later), just add an extra 10 minutes.

If you don’t have a regular oven, or it is broken, you can also use a microwave oven to prepare your Quiché. To do this, the directions state that you should cut the Quiché into serving portions, place it on a microwave safe dish, and cook it.

Turn the oven onto a high heat setting, and allow the food to cook for around two minutes. The middle of the Quiché should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit before it is considered safe to eat.

The great thing about Quiché is that you can really just have it at any time of day. They are great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a snack. Another great thing?

These quiches could have a “best before” date of three weeks from the purchase or more! That means you don’t have to worry about the product spoiling any time soon as long as you store it correctly.

Once the Quiché has been cooked once, it can then be eaten cold for 3-4 days after. Very convenient!

Proper Storage

Speaking of storage, it is crucial that you store your Quiché correctly as soon as you get home! From the moment you walk through the door, the Quiché should either be going into your refrigerator, freezer, or oven.

If you’re just going to refrigerate it, you can leave the food in the box you bought it in. It’s airtight and should be absolutely fine there. For freezing, you can also leave it in the box.

If the box takes up too much space, you might want to remove both the Quiché and wrap them in plastic wrap before freezing them.

Be sure to leave them in their little aluminum base pan so that they’re easy to work with when you need to use them.

When the time comes to stick the Quiché in the oven, you can do so from frozen. Just add an extra 10 minutes to the recommended cooking time so that it thaws and cooks.

Alternatively, you can transfer the frozen Quiché to the refrigerator overnight to thaw slowly. It doesn’t really matter, either way!

As you can tell from the above lists, there are plenty of ingredients present in both Quiché options. However, all the ingredients are normal for this kind of dish, and are therefore nothing to concern yourself over.

Despite there being no meat such as bacon or chicken present in these two Quiché options, both contain eggs dairy. As such, they are not suitable for vegans.

This is something to consider not only for yourself, but for whoever you intend to serve them to!

With that being said, a bunch of the ingredients listed for these Quichés do have some good nutritional value! The spinach and artichoke Quiché contains some good vegetable products (as the name suggests), but also eggs and cheese.

The cheddar and broccoli Quiché also has some good nutritional value. As such, you can at least enjoy these knowing that they are empty calories, and they should keep you saturated for some time.

In both cases, all the ingredients come together perfectly to make something very enjoyable and easy to prepare! You can enjoy these at any time of day and not feel too guilty about it.

The reviewed quiche is the most tasteless thing I've ever eaten as a store bought prepared food!
