How Long To Cook Meatloaf At 375 Three Tasty Ways?

Meatloaf has humble beginnings. When I was young, meatloaf was seen as an economical alternative to steak or roast beef, and was relatively easy to prepare.

It was something my Mom made often. It was part of the regular weekly rotation of dinner meats, and meat was always the focal point of the meal.

These days, when I make a meatloaf for my family, they are wowed. They love meatloaf and consider it special. In our crazy busy world where there is little time for cooking and baking, the humble meatloaf has an elevated status.

And why not? It does taste great, is relatively easy to mix up, and many would include it among their list of comfort foods.

Meatloaf has grown over the years, too. It used to be solely made from ground beef, but now there are options to make meatloaf from other kinds of ground meat.

How Long To Cook Meatloaf At 375 With Ground Beef?

Meatloaf made with ground beef is the classic that many of us know from our childhood. For purists, that delicious ground beef flavor is the only choice.

When I want to make meatloaf, this is my go-to. It’s a recipe that I got from my sister. I loved it and immediately asked for the recipe! All the flavor you want is there, and it’s easy to put together.

Almost all meatloaf recipes call for breadcrumbs. This recipe gives you the option of breadcrumbs or rolled oats.

My family loves hot oatmeal for breakfast most of the year, so I always have rolled oats on hand. I have used breadcrumbs in this recipe, but I prefer the flavor and texture of the oats.

This recipe calls for onion soup mix which gives a lot of flavor, and saves you peeling and chopping an onion.

However, if you prefer to use an onion, just be sure to cut it up into fine pieces otherwise it can break the meatloaf apart when you are slicing it to serve.

Likewise, the celery and green pepper should be cut into fine pieces. If you have individuals who do not care for one or both of these vegetables, you may make the meatloaf without them. I have done this, and it still turns out tasty.

How Long To Bake Meatloaf At 375 With Ground Turkey?

We all know the importance of cutting back on red meat in our diet and ground turkey makes an excellent substitute for ground beef.

Turkey meat is also not as high in fat as beef, but, when it comes to flavor, can meatloaf made from ground turkey compete with one made from ground beef?

The short answer is, yes. I use many of the same ingredients from the recipe above for meatloaf with ground beef, with just a few adjustments. The result is a turkey meatloaf that everyone will love, and they’ll get a healthy serving of protein.

Rosemary, thyme and sage are all classic seasoning companions of turkey. They give great flavor to this meatloaf.

Ground turkey can be a little drier than ground beef as it does not have the same fat content. To avoid this meatloaf from being on the dry side, I add a little chicken broth as well as the ketchup.

Turkey meatloaf is such a fabulous change from beef meatloaf. Bake this up and I’m sure your family will love it!
